We traveled to Finland and Sweden for two glorious weeks in the summer of 1997. Our trip was really two different itineraries: we went to a farm north of Helsinki for four days, then with the Special Expeditions tour ("Impressions of a Swedish Summer") of the Stockholm Archipelago on the Swedish Islander.
Surprisingly, this was their warmest summer in decades; however, even the weather was not outdone by the warmth of the people we met.
